24 – How This Pharmacist Earned a Certification To Gain Essential Skills in Medical Writing

This week we bring to you Dr. Monique Boliko, a Doctor of Pharmacy who received her PharmD from the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy in 2018.

After graduation, Dr. Boliko began her career as a Medical Associate at a start-up digital health company called Aeongo Technologies. After a year in this position, Monique wanted more so she set out to explore the medical writing role by earning an Essential Skills Certificate through the American Medical Writers Association. With the added credentials, Monique landed a role in the pharmaceutical marketing space as a Medical Writer at Medscape.

Currently, she’s a Post-Doctoral Fellow in the Rutgers Pharmaceutical Industry Fellowship (RPIF) program, a two-year fellowship with the Global Scientific Content team at Merck & Co., where she’ll focus on the strategic development of scientific response documents to support medical affairs.
